CDC

Montevideo, Uruguay
2014

The project name refers to the concept “Cabinet of Curiosities” and reinterpreted it in a contemporary way, using like most modern museums an acronym: CDC.

The reform proposes the construction of a cultural center with two exhibition halls, amphitheater, cafeteria, patio and an articulating core coated with brise soleil services.

This last element is inserted into the rest of the project and breaks with some subtlety ruin and threading the different spaces.

The fluidity and the creation of multiple heights with overhead lighting (indoor skylight), generate a series of visual links between indoor-outdoor-living-access underground-covered-mezzanine; an spatial synergy that invites visitors to experiment.
